Missouri Podiatrist
Dr. Shirley Visser was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University. She graduated from LSU in 2004 with a Bachelor in Science. She then went on to Podiatry school in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Shirley Visser graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (now Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine) in 2008 with Honors. She then completed a 3-year comprehensive surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
While in residency, she served as part of a multidisciplinary team approach to limb salvage by performing surgical procedures to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent amputation and improve function in diabetic and vasculopathologic patients. She is also trained in a vast array of the elective forefoot and rearfoot procedures to correct deformity and restore function.
Dr. Visser is an active member and associate of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and Missouri Podiatric Medical Associations. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is on staff at SSM St. Clare Hospital – Fenton, SSM DePaul Hospital, and Mercy Hospital – Washington.
